Since December 2017, fares for Bus Éireann buses in Cork city are for an extended zone, shown with a dotted orange line on the map below.
Previously Cork city had a inner "green" zone and an outer red zone.
National Transport authority policy is that there are two fare levels for trips inside the dotted orange line - and that this is based on journey distance (over / under 7.5km).
However Bus Éireann's website still refers to standard and outer zones: it is possible they are applying the over/under 7.5km rule based on this.
